Abstract

Tree planting is necessary considering roles they play to the livelihood of man and his immediate physical environment. It is also necessary considering the current rate at which these trees are being handled via mans activities for various purpose in order to meet his need as well as the devastating effects of this desolation no both man himself and the physical environment where he lives. Tree planting has some challenges which include the following: aridity, problem, problem of wandering animals, susceptibility to inset-pest attack and insufficient funding it has been discovered that despite the treat these problems have been posing to the success of tree planting in the area, there is a good prospect still, it is positive that these problem could be adequately addressed by committing energy, time and resources which is not beyond the capacity and capability of the area. Two methods were employed for data collection during this research, there method are primary data and secondary data (which involves personal interviews with member of forestry section at the area and going through the documents and records at the forestry section, at the area respectively out of 2240 seedlings planted species and private survival, mainly Eucalyptus species and private. Tables 15 summarize the findings.
